The Truth About Glossier’s Boy Brow and Brow Flick

I have wanted to try the beauty Brand Glossier for quite some time now. For a few months I’ve watched a couple of Instagram Ad’s with a some of my favorite influencers using their eyebrow products Boy Brow and the Brow Flick, to create some beautiful looks. So one can only imagine my excitement once I got my hands on them.

I’ve wanted to change the look of my eyebrows to a fuller/thicker brow to better fit my face. There was a new trend called the “boy brow” which seemed like the perfect brow for me to try. Now normally I get my eye brows waxed every 2 weeks but at the top of the year I let my brows grow out completely out. Once I got my brows to the perfect shape and thickness I placed my order with Glossier.

I got the products in and immediately tried them out. Also I should mention that the two products come as a bundle and are extremely affordable. I used the Brow Flick first as recommended by the brand. If I’m being completely honest here I wasn’t that impressed with the Brow Flick initially. The color I order was dark brown yet the pen looked to be black once applied. Wanting to give these products a chance I continued on to the Boy Brow in the color dark brown as well. Once I applied the Boy Brow to my eyebrow it changed everything. My brows looked amazing. The color of both products worked well for my eyebrows.

So let’s get real. I played around with both products for about an hour until I complete got the look I wanted. I even found another use for the brow flick on my eyebrows. Overall the products work and now have been added to my must-haves list of products needed to maintain your brows while at home. (Blog post link). If your interested in these products and brand as a whole I strongly recommend try. You may have to play around with the products at first but once you get it the desired look you won’t be disappointed.

How To Style Woven Heeled Sandals from Dolce Vita

Recently I saw an ad on Instagram for a sale that the shoes company Dolce Vita had. I immediately hit the swipe up link and started to shop. I came across these heeled sandals with a woven heel that screamed, “buy me, buy me now!” So of course I did. They were the perfect shoes for summer and I had to have them!

I got a 7.5 because they're shoes fit true to size but not in a bad way. They’re comfy and easy on the feet if worn for long periods of time. The shoes work well for so many things, jeans, jumpers, romper and dresses.

The 1st look I paired the shoes with was a beige linen milkmaid printed top from H&M, Zara distressed high waisted jeans and gold hoops.

For the second look I went with an entire linen vibe and paired the shoes with my wide-leg tan linen trousers, linen white tank and the same gold hoops.

You’ll need these in your shoe collection for summer, so head on over to Dolcevita.com right and add them to your cart!

My Honest Clinique Counter Review

Back in February I had a skin test analysis done at my local Clinique Counter with one of their skincare specialist. The weather was changing and I thought it was time to switch up my skincare routine, because during the fall/winter months my skin tends to be dry and I struggle with ways to keep it moisturized during the day. I’ve been using Clinique’s face wash for almost two years now but I wanted to see what other products they had that might help me with my skin issues. So I scheduled an appointment at the nearest Clinique counter to me.

I met with the skincare specialist named Q. She not only is an expert with skincare for Clinique but she also doubles as an MUA, so she understands how important skincare can be for those who wear makeup. The test was simple and took about 30 minutes to complete. The first half of the test, Q asked me a few questions while filling out a questionnaire about my skin. The questionnaire wanted to know what type of skin I had (dry, oily, or combination), if I was using any other skincare products besides a moisturizer and how often did I wear makeup. Once she gathered information about my skin from the questionnaire she was able to come up with a few recommendations as a result of what I shared. My results showed that I have dry skin, an uneven skins tone and a mild case of acne. So with those results she recommended that I use a 3 step system in the morning and at night. Q selected Clinique’s Liquid mild facial soap as my facial wash, the acne solutions clarifying lotion as my toner and the Clinique iD active cartridge and moisturizing lotion for uneven skin tone as my moisturizer. While there she tried out the products on my face and showed me exactly how to use each one. Q also recommended that I use use Clinique’s exfoliating scrub twice a week to help get rid of an excess dirt and dead skin on my face. Ladies once we were finished with the entire consultation my skin felt amazing.

Over all I’d say my experience at the Clinique counter was a 10 out of 10. While most places are only interested in making sales, the consultants at the Clinique counter really do care about the type of skin care you need. Not sure if most of you know this but Clinique’s skincare brand was created by a real dermatologist. Dr. Orentreich and founder Carol Phillips wanted to create a line of skincare products that didn't produce a "one size fit all "method like other skincare products produced used over the years.   Q was great and a big help with getting me on the path to healthier skin. If your  in need of new skincare products for the fall/winter months I’d recommend making an appointment with your local Clinique counter and specialist. Have you tried Clinique skincare line?

3 Quick, Easy and Afforadable Avocado Breakfast Recipes

Happy 2020 ladies. I'm finally back from my 4 month hiatus and ready to get back to blogging. While away, I slacked off on the healthy habits I formed last year completely. Then back in February I started going to the gym for my three day weekly workouts and meal prepping. But as you all know all of that has somewhat been put on hold. With all of the adjustments we've all been forced to make do to Covid19, I thought it was a good idea to try a few easy recipes for breakfast with food I had in my fridge to save money.

I always keep a few Avocados in the fridge mainly for their health benefits. Avocados are extremely popular for all types of meals. There are a million different ways to fix an avocado but i prefer them at breakfast. The breakfast bowl, backed avocado with egg and avocado toast, are 3 popular recipes on Pinterest with great health benefits. So I gave all three a try and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I've made in a while.

Not only are these recipes tasty but they are healthy, cost effective and easy to make. All 3 dishes took about twenty minutes to make and require no more than 4 ingredients.

The recipes are as follows:

5 Must Haves For Maintaining Your Brows At Home

We're all at home during this pandemic and for the most part are looking rough, lol. That's why I wanted to share with you all how I've been maintaining my brows while at home.  Now normally I would get my brows waxed once a month at the local nail salon near my house and in between those weeks I'd clean and shape them up myself. So I have some experience with doing my own brows.

Earlier in the year I wanted to try something different and before the pandemic happened the plan was to let my brows grow in full again, then have them waxed and tinted. Well as you all know that didn't happen, so I had to improvise and that was okay. I had to the tools and somewhat of the skills needed to do my own brows so thats what I did. It been about a month now I'd say I'm getting better as time progresses and I wanted to share what I consider 5 very important tools you need to maintain your brows at home.

Here are my 5 Must Haves for Maintaining Your Brows At Home:

The first of the must haves is a Glossier brow flick. You'll need this to outline the the shape you want on your brows. I've found that this helps me as a guide to the next must have. You can find this at Glossier.com

Next the most important of the must haves would be the Finishing Touch Flawless Women's Painless Hair Remover. This one tool can be a game changer in your brow maintenance routine. You can purchase this from Amazon.com

The third of the must haves is a bottle of Tea Tree Clarifying Beauty Oil. This is key when using a razor to shape and clean up your own brows as it makes it easy to do so. This oil makes it easy for the blade to glide across those tough hairs in the brow area. It is also very gentle on the skin and can be found at your local Target or Walmart.

For the fourth tool of the must haves you'll need is one Schick Silk touch-up razor. This item is necessary when it's time to clean up those brows and can be found on Amazon.com as well.

The fifth and final of the must haves is the Boy Brow by Glossier. Now this tool comes in handy once you're done shaping and cleaning up your brows and want to fill in and add volume to your brows. You can find this at Glossier.com as well.

So there you have it, the list of must have for maintaining your brows at home!  All of this tools are games changers if Im being honest and will get us through this very difficult time. Hope you all are staying safe and home. Talk to you soon, Bye Xoxo.
